Hey. I've been having computer trouble with my new XP hard drive (I/O errors) and had to hook up my slave drive to an old Windows 2000 Pro computer.

I need to access the internet, but the computer is configured for dial up, while we currently have DSL.

Now I'm trying to access the Verizon Westell modem\router from a Zyxel G-220 v2 wireless adapter and am having no luck connecting to the network. Nothing even comes up to state that there is a network or any others in the area.

The Microsoft site is no help and everything else I've read has been no luck.

So does anyone know a good way to get wireless DSL from a network adapter on Windows 2000 Professional?

    Thanks

What model Verizon Westell modem\router ?

Model 327W. The router connects with every other computer finely, but maybe it's not 2000 compatible.

At the command prompt do an "ipconfig /all" and post the results here.

Sorry for taking so long. Was my day off so I had a few drinks. :)

    Primary dns suffix - ______
    node type - broadcast
    IP routing enabled - No
    Wins Proxy enabled - No

    ethernet adapter local area connection
    media state - cable disconnected
description - ZyXel G-220 v2 USB wireless adapter

Could've sworn IP routing and Wins Proxy were enabled, but now they aren't.

    Thanks again

Is the ZyXEL utility running? Little "Z" on the right task bar.

If so open up the utility and click on the SIte Survey TAB. What do you see?

BTW....have you followed the installation instructions in the manual?

Yeah, what little instructions they had.

I've installed the Zyxel on two different XP computers and both times the Zyxel program actually interfered with getting a signal, so I normally only install the drivers and not the actual program.

I'll reinstall the program then and see what it says.

Can you open the Zyxel utility and go to the site survey tab?

I'm looking at the manual and it looks pretty informative to me.
