I don't folow, case spec is unimportant for upgrading. Its probably an atx, open it up and look at how slots you have left if you want to see if you can upgrade compoents

Not really, Joe. Cases have become a big factor with brand names like Antec being popular. Even years back, bad cases would cut you with their sharp edges while a quality case would not, for example. If theres no name on your case, its simply a generic model.

True, i'd say the type of case is very important, when build a new system. But when upgrading an old one, you have what you have. Your not going to say, damn its coolmaster, i can't bang in an extra 256 mb's of ram. He's thinking about replacing his case, so i fail to see where the relavence of the spec of the old on comes in. If he simply posted his hardware spec and the case he was thinking about buying, i'm sure anyone here would be able to tell him if he could fit all his gear into it.

may i make a small sugestion sizjam, speaking from experiance if you are looking to mod the case itself by your self try cuting the old case before throwing the mighty drummel at a new one. It is harder than you might think to cut a staright line. Just a thought my first mistake was expensive to say the least.

Maybe the best way to start case modding is to say buy a ready made case thats modded already...... Coolermaster or LianLi ( if you like Aluminum ) plus Antec, Thermaltake.

Then use your old one to experiment on, saves wasting a new case if something goes wrong!

@halo: thanks:) thats what i was thinking of!
@Joe: i want to get a case that at least matches/betters my original one; ergo i would like to know where it has to improve! if that makes sense....
