a work in progress

so I came across on old case on craigslist and went ahead and bought it for 5 bucks. My main goal is to make something special out of it.... This is what ive done so far.
1)cut out windows on the top and side panel
2)cut out 120mm fan hole for front intake and hollow out existing 80mm fan hole mesh
3)sand blasted the hell out of it and prep it for powder coating
4)powder coated the inside sparkel red and the out side gloss black

its still just a work in progress but will post updates as they roll in

on a quick not this project has costed me about 16 buck so far, lol

 

Not bad for a $5.00 case! From the size of the top, I take it this will be a water cooled machine? What are you planning on using for the CPU, MB, etc? Or are you just playing it one step at a time? Looks like you have a good start, keep us posted!!

 

I could build in a water cooler but the top is going to be just a plain plexy window, as far as internals goes im just going to throw in some parts i have laying around

Looks nice. Great job. But get some anodized screws for the top window. Or paint those black.

no its all powder coated, no paint at all

 

ok now for another update for those who are keeping an eye on this thread. the front bezel is going to me my weekend project. Take a look at the pics and you will see the front bezel does not match the case at all

the paint took only 15 mins to do inside and out... thats the best thing about powder coading.... its cheap, its easy, no drip marks and its more durable then conventional paint which means no scratch marks when your friends decide its a good idea to touch your custom painted case
