try this, go into computer management in the contol panel and click on disk management, it should show up as a unpartitiond disk and will need to be formated into ntsf

In BIOS SATA may have to be enabled...

The SATA drive is 3.0gb/s does the MOBO support SATA II ? regardless the HDD needs the jumper set accordingly, jumper is needed for SATA I, 1.5GB/s mobos

Is the correct SATA header being used on the MOBO

Okay, RAID is utterly over my head. I have the jumper over the first two pins.

    Not exactly true...
Not All BIOS are the same, nor are the options

Here's a Free BIOS GUIDE too help whom ever
Many of the SATA options are covered in the Storage Subsystem section:major

    Dont worry about Raid

I suspect your Bios isnt configured correctly or the HDD isnt connected correctly

You have a MOBO manual? double check everything, check the BIOS guide I posted.

After that if still no work, Maybe Dead HDD, Use WD free Diagnostic utility, I think its called Data Lifeguard Tools... This used to come with retail HDDs, free download at WD web...
