Thats the beep code of your particular bios
In this case it seems to not like the new memeory
Are you sure it is seated correctly
Can/do you have another pc for testing the new memory?(even though it is pretested)

No, She lives in IN. and I Live in TN. The only different in the ram is the new Is DDR SDRAM.2@1 gig each
The ram that was in there the ram is DDR Ram 2@256

Sorry if this is obvious or rude, but...

You do know that SDRAM is different from DDR RAM don't you?

Well the specs from the Dell site (on the assumption I got the correct one) would seem to confirm that you got the correct type of ram and that each ram slot is capable of accepting the module size which you have ie 1Gb

    http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim3000/en/SM/specs.htm#wp1075801

Have you tried inserting just one ram stick and see if the bios continues to give you the ram error beeps.

Apart from the ram being seated correctly (or it being faulty - unlikely but possible) the only other alternative that I can think of and which has already been stated is that your mobo does not like that particular ram.

    Good Luck

It Said We could use this one?

risk_reversal When the pc started to beep and wouldent start she went nuts
So no I didnt try just one .
I was thinking and hopeing the SDram Wouldn't work in that pc , then I could just Get the DDR Ram. But??

My suggestion is go to this site and obtain Memtest86.

    http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

Download the Pre-compiled bootable ISO .zip file, extract the contents, and burn the program to CD-ROM.

Insert the disk, and it will run after the BIOS screen loads.

It will then test the memory for errors, so at least you may know what condition the modules are in. Seeing red means it has found errors.

Also, could you count the beeps, and let us know how many there are, and their sequence?

ALSO, please be concise about the memory you are installing. PC100/133 SDRAM WILL NOT WORK WITH THIS MOBO!!!!

Only PC2700 (333MHz) or PC3200 (400MHz) will function properly in combination with this MOBO...

Just get her to take out both Corsair modules, then place one module ONLY into slot 1 (that will probably be the slot closest the cpu) and make sure that it is well seated and even. Then start the pc and see if that cures the issue.

The beeps you are getting, probably long beeps puntuated by short breaks ie beeeep beeeep beeeep is indicative of ram error at post.

BTW, there will be a sticker on the original ram modules which you/she removed, can she read the info and let us know what it is? (Just to make sure that the info which I found on the DELL site is correct).

By all accounts (from the info you provided above) you have DDR ram pc3200 ie 400FSB. I use Cosair TwinX 3200 in my Asus rig but only run a total of 1gb in dual channel mode.

    Good Luck

I can't believe I missed this detail, but I am a bit green to the forum gig to date. Very accustomed to hands on. YOUR PROBLEM IS YOU ARE TRYING TO RUN DUAL CHANNEL MEMORY ON A MOBO THAT DOES NOT SUPPORT IT.

Okay, where did anyone mention he has a Gigabyte board?

I'll gather the post was added for reference?

Initially the PC in question I have quoted above.

I'm thinking installing only one stick may not work on this mobo, but I might be wrong.

    WTFO? :confused
