Monitor resolution changes

    Ok so my problem is, that almost everytime, I exit a game/program, or log back onto my computer, the resolution changes to 1280 by 720 from 1280 by 960. It's getting really annoying, does anyone have a solution to this? Thank you

    like what OS you have, monitor type? Graphics card?

    Windows vista ultimate 32bit, Dell flat screen generic pnp moniter(can't find the name), Nvidia 8800gt.
