windows xp home to pro

I took my home computer with windows xp home to my classroom, but found out that the school network can't recognize xp home, but it could if it was xp pro. Is there anything I can do, without upgrading to pro that would enable the xp home to see my school network OR is there some additionally download I could add. I even had an unwrapped windows xp pro cd and tried to install. I used the product key on the side of the tower and it didn't work. What to do?

 

Your problem is probably that XP Home can't join a domain. Dependant on what you need there might be a work around
