Default Battlefield 2 fails to load...

The game was working fine before i did a format.. I had to format because of a OS problem and after the reinstall i reinstalled BF 2. After i installed BF2 i checked it and it ran fine so then i installed BF2 SF and it ran fine but after i installed the 1.5 patch the game fails to load i click on the icon and the screen goes black and goes right back to desktop and again before i did the format the game ran fine......

Have you tried reinstalling the patch, with AV and firewall turned off? If that doesn't make a difference, wipe the game and do a full reinstall. You might just have corrupted something a reinstall can fix.
