Missing desktop- not able to complete run me first
I am running Vista and am unable to see desktop after logging in (in both normal and safe mode). It is just a black screen with a cursor (not a blinking line). Sometimes there is a spyware alert window that says that there is a Worm.Win32.NetSky detected. How am I supposed to perform the read me first steps if I can't access anything?

Can you access task manager? ( Control/alt/delete) Can you download the tools to a different computer and put them on either cd or thumb drive?

No... I was not able to access task manager previously.
Update All of a sudden I am able to log in today and my desktop is mysteriously there. No one has touched this computer. I will perform all the steps in the "read me first" section. I am posting my Hijack this now just in case I am unable to later.
