Media Player 9 and Mpeg

Hey kids!

I have found a problem with media Player 9 and .mpeg extensions!


Every time I click on an .Mpeg link or a HTML mpeg link!

Media player just freezes!

I have to bring up Windows Task Manager and close wmplayer.exe then download the .mpeg as target as and it plays fine!


I don't know what layer is the problem but I have tried to download many Codacs to correct the problem and it does not help!

I have cleared the drive and reinstalled Xp and all is well for a few weeks then it's right back to the same problem!


It sounds like a newsgroup adware to me????? I have run all the adware programs without success to cure the problem!

Anyone else have this problem?


My roommate who is on his own cable modem has the same problem so I know I am not alone!

We both download from easynews.com allot!


Any ideas?

THe Codec pack did not help! Thanks anyways!

The seems to only hapen on .mpeg files that are streamed!


Anyone else have any ideas?
