OE is deleting our email attachments!

Greetings All,
I could use some help, again...

I feel dumb for not knowing the answer to this myself, but recently, Outlook Express 6 has been deleting my email attachments! My husband checks his business email from this computer's OE (long story, but checking by webmail is impossible for him) and OE is the best possible way we can receive it right now. I have Norton AV and Zone Alarm (with file attachment protection disabled.) We need no further protection from Microsoft and checking their site for this would take hours that I don't have... I have looked in the tools, accounts, settings, but cannot find anything about this. (I could have overlooked something in my haste, though.)

When we open an email, we get the following dialogue: "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail." Does anyone know how to fix this? I would really appreciate some help.

That error message ONLY pops up when file access removal is on.
