Extracting information from a webpage

What I want to do is to extract information wich is shown on a webpage and store it in a file on my pc.
The amount of webpages goes into the hundreds, thats why I want some kind of automated software to do the job for me.
The information will be used to create statistics.

Can anyone tell me what the best way is to do this?
