Yippee I've done it!

At last. I now have a dual boot system with Win2K Pro on my 60Gb Maxtor and Mandrake Linux 9.1 on my 20Gb Seagate. First drive has three NTFS partitions and the second has whatever Mandrake told it to do, (I'm not that brave yet). All I have to work out now is getting drivers for my Conexant Access Runner ADSL modem, getting them installed, and getting on the net with Linux as a consequence and I've got a fighting chance BTW if anyone knows how to do that it would save me a bit of research

Anyway I am pretty chuffed at the result so far

Every once in a while, when I'm upstairs here working on the machines and my wife has a guest over for coffee, the guest will hear a lot of noise from up here and ask about it.
My wife says "That's just Dan. He's been doing something difficult to his computer and it has finally worked right, and now he's applauding himself."

 

Yeah, congrats! I'll hopefully be going thru such a multi-boot config situation myself, soon, after I comply with the LINUX HCL. I'm so new at this stuff that I have ALOT of chances to get that feeling. Like the other night when I went to SiS 's site to download a driver for my AG315-E 32 vid card. I ended up having to use some kind of ftp site to 'go thru" I still don't know it it was the ftp site or that LeechGet simply refused to give up on the download!
