What do you do when the fish in the Aquarium screensaver with Plus for XP go retarded?

Like, one swims to the bottom and doesn't get up.

    Or, one starts swimming backwards.

Or one swims off the screen, never to return.

We actually have people get pretty hot about these problems when they call us, LOL.

Sounds like a fish story to me, Adrynalyne. I bet these "pretty hot" people are just women who want you to talk geek to them.

"Ooooh! I love it when you tell me to 'defrag it,' Adrynalyne."

    Snort. :D

Tell them that they're lucky that they noticed the problem with the screen saver and that screen savers are the biggest drag on a system's resources and that they try to start up during imaginary pc rest periods and that they should de-install that stinky thing and never use it again.

And then tell they they can't have your home phone number... LOL

Well, I don't talk to the customer, but when the techs call me about it, I can't help but laugh :D

Maybe they should turn their monitors upside down so the fish stuck at the bottom are back at the top?

Hahahha! That would be a good one too... cuz people would do it!

Same folks who put their coffee cup on the cd rom tray.

Funny: over on TweakXP, there's a poster who complains that when he starts a movie on his PC, it's upside down.

I had a great urge to ask him whether there was a flat, heavy part of his monitor sticking up in the air, and if so, that was supposed to be on the desk, so he should turn the whole thing over.

    I resisted the temptation. :D

i used to have some sort of program that was called cokegift or something like that and it would say it was going to give you a free cupholder and then it would eject the cd tray.

I have a pivoting monitor and use a severely trimmed install of Pivot Pro 7 (The CD and the upgrade installed 30 MB, and I have it down to 3.0 MB and working great, and it runs from a shortcut on demand now, instead of the default background running) that turns the display 90, 180, or 270 degrees. But you couldn't get the thing to change the display without KNOWING you had changed it. And I have no idea why anybody would use the 180-degeree option.

Is the one you're talking about a joke? I mean, why would anybody WANT an upside-down display?

Yeah, there's a lot of those so called "joke" or "gag" programs.
I've had people bring me their PCs thinking it was a virus, and all the time it was one of those joke programs. I've seen one that the screen rolls sideways, and a nifty one that won't let you put your mouse over a desktop icon, because the icon moves when put the mouse near it. :)
