Default Can't connect to certain pages or download since adding router and...

.........after doing a system restore due to other problems.

I've been setting up a new computer and had a few issues. Had the router added on and shortly after did a system restore due to other issues. BUT, the problem occurred before I did the system restore (so, doubting that's part of the problem but I wanted to mention it in case anyone thinks otherwise).

Here's the issue. I can't connect to hotmail. The page comes up but I get the yellow triangle error at the bottom. I discovered, when I tried to download Chrome, that the same thing happened. I couldn't. Then, when in gmail, any images in e-mails don't show up. My bank's website doesn't work properly for me. I also discovered when I tried to do a search on this site that I'd get a new page with the menus on the left and the right but there would be absolutely nothing down the middle of the page. I haven't tried too many more sites to see if there are issues with them.

I keep thinking I need to back everything up, uninstall everything and start from scratch but I thought it smarter to come and see if anyone here had a simpler (and less time consuming) fix than that since we run the Adobe Creative Suite on here and that takes FOREVER to uninstall and re-install, update,etc.,etc.

I have a feeling it's something SUPER simple but, of course, I haven't figured it out. I've re-set all of the internet options stuff and uninstalled and re-installed most of the programs.

PLEASE HELP!

Oh woe is me, nobody has answered yet. I really needed to get this sorted out today as my husband works from home and off of this computer.

Do you need more information? Please ask. I can give you basics, such as I'm on Windows XP SP3, I have a Linksys router (model N something or other). I use CA for my virus protection. I didn't want to put too much impertinent information but maybe if I put at least this, I might get a response.

Unfortunately for me, if I don't hear back in the next hour or so, I'm going to have to uninstall everything and start from scratch. *sigh*

Thanks in advance if anyone can advise me.

As i see you have this specific problems:

1- Incorrect navigation websites (don't diplay correctly or directly doesn't works)
2- Can't download Chrome

I don't know how good is CA antivirus, i recommend install Avira Free:

http://www.free-av.com/

Check your PC for some malware with this tool:

Tell the results and i still helping you.
