Default Can you overclock notebooks ... just a tad?

Can't say that I've seen anything said about overclocking a notebook. I'm looking at the Gateway 450 (or something along these lines), and I don't game, really, so I thought I'd consider clocking the thing up a tad. All I do, really, is surf and research.

Anyway, it's a thought.

I don't have any experience with OC/ing laptops, but theoretically there's nothing stopping you, except the cooling is awful, and you can't really improve it... much. So I'd say definitely only a tad and I wouldn't recommend it. So you OC it a very little bit... you won't notice any difference in real terms and you're running a risk. I personally don't think it's worth it, but maybe other people have more positive thoughts

edit/ If all you do is surf and research, if you overclock it a little bit, you won't notice any difference in the day-to-day running of things anyway, I wouldn't have imagined.

Default Yeah, I agree ...

That's about it, aceadrian1. I was just curious about it. "Yes, I overclocked my 1.2G to 3.5. I can run Web sites like no one's business!" Ha!

How about considering the battery life and heat problems?
OCing a notebook is not a good idea.
