Cable Internet connection speeds?

Adelphia just upped our bandwidth & I'm wondering what others that run cable are getting. I just ran the test at Bandwidthplace.com and the results of three consecutive tests were....4.3mps, 3.5mps & 3.9mps in that order. That's good right? It does tend to slow down a little at peak hours to something more like 2.5mps or so, but never lower than that.

Actual readout;

3.5 megabits per second

Communications ~ 3.5 megabits per second
Storage ~ 423.7 kilobytes per second
1MB file download ~ 2.4 seconds
Subjective rating ~ Awesome

There are not very many people that have cable out here where I live. I was told that only 5 people on this line have it. I am also the first house from the transfer box.

 

ours got jacked up a bit here too..

I used to get 1.8-.1.9 Mb

now:

2.4 megabits per second

Communications 2.4 megabits per second
Storage 287.7 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 3.6 seconds
Subjective rating Great

 

Im not sure what it used to be around here, it was relatively slower but now mine generally runs at 4.4-4.8 MB per sec.

 

They will up the cost soon also.
