Question XP.....o.k. but how long?

I have started my attempt at reinstalling XP, but I've been looking at the blue screen 'Welcome to Setup' for about fifteen minutes. I have preesed Enter to 'set up Windows XP now' but nothing appears to be happening. Is this normal? If so, how long before I see progress? Thanks.

My guess is the setup program is not recognizing your USB keyboard. If you are using a USB keyboard do you have one of the older ps/2 types?

Hi

No not normal as you should see activity pretty much instantly, one thing that maybe the issue is that you did not install the SATA/RAID drivers earlier in the install process by pressing F6 to install additional drivers, as many new motherboards and if your using a SATA HDD need.

We will need some hardware specs as in your motherboard make and model to know if SATA/RAID drivers are needed?

Also is this Windows CD an original or a burned backup copy? as sometimes a backup copy maybe corrupt so use the original.
