Hello all.
I have been having trouble with my computer for the last two weeks. The trouble started when the blue screen of death appeared. After the computer performed poorly in a number of ways. It was slow and unresponsive. I used the tools I had at the time which were not very good, namely ad-aware and AVG. Ad-Aware found two trojans: cimag and mulfanom/A. These buggers busily set about downloading all kinds of nasty crap onto my computer. Including the fake Windows Security Alert. I found this site yesterday and followed the malware removal guide. Everything ran ok. The first time combo fix ran it said it detected a rootkit and had to restart. After a reboot it ran without any problems. I have the logs attached below. This process appeared to clean the pc. The dowloaded programs were gone including the fake Windows Alert icon in the task tray. However when I tried to use Firefox it kept getting redirected. So I tried the solution from the redirection forum first. I used gooredFix and TDSSKiller. I have also attached those logs. These appeared to take care of the problem but I don't want to take anymore risks. These viruses have been driving me crazy for the past two weeks and several looked pretty dangerous. Any help would be appreciated in helping me figure out if my pc is finally clean. Thank you so much for donating your time. |

TDSSKiller found your main problem and fixed it. Let's just do a little cleaning:
* Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it! If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work. * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly. * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update. * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ): Code:
KILLALL:: File:: c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\oVlLshwOTG.exe C:\WINDOWS\Dzovijan.dat C:\WINDOWS\Jjoyakatikunodij.bin Folder:: c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\nB06509JlNhP06509 * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing! * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop. If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES. * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe * Follow the prompts. * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt * I will ask for this log below Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).Make sure that you watch for the license agreement for TrendMicro HijackThis and click on the Accept button TWICE to accept ( yes twice ). Then attach the below logs: * C:\ComboFix.txt * C:\MGlogs.zip Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Thanks for your help so far. Everything seems to running normal now. The only thing I notice now is that a lot of tracking cookies from places like ad.yieldmananger load when I access a webpage. When I checked firefox there seemed to be an unusual amount of cookies seeing as I just cleared out all of them during the cleaning process. Are these due to adware or just a normal part of browsing and is there an effective way to block them?
Here are the two logs you requested. Again thanks for your help. |

Good to know. Your logs are clean. You don't need to be concerned about cookies. They are rarely an issue. You can use both CCleaner as well as ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
