Default virtual memory

hello

i have a 1.7ghz 512mb and a 400mhz 128mb windows 98 se wich always had the virtual memory set to "let windows manage..." is this any important?

now that i use evidence eliminator (please do not point me to the sucks page) i need to have a fixed size... 150 minimum and 150 maximum... but there is another option "disable virtual memory" wich sounds me nice... can i? hehe

what should i do

thanks

bye

you can disable it, but I don't recommend it. Set to about 384 min and max and that should take care of it for you.

thing,

There are a LOT of advantages to setting a reasonable minimum and maximum virtual mem size, and ...

there are NO advantages to turning VM off, unless you happen to like occasional crashes and lots of popups and BSODs, and ...

there are REAL DISadvantages to letting Windows manage the VM size for you, so ....

It's an easy decision: do what Kodo tells you to do.

The minimum and the maximum are fine.

The math makes no sense in this context.

But you can keep the math if you want it.

Just set the memory; don't add the numbers.
