Windows Recovery Virus Problem

I'm a pc tech, i've gotten the virus off the pc. (this i'm sure of) my problem is that this virus likes to do a little movement of files when its on the machine that arent reversed when it gets removed. It migrates everything from the start menu to a folder called "smtmp" and puts it under the user/local settings/temp/smtmp

It also usually will put anything from the quick launch in the smtmp folder. I've had this same virus and found the files that where missing there. But this machine is different, same virus but files arent where they usually are. Google searches have come back with next to nothing. On top of all of this my windows search seems to be bugging out. I did a windows search for a folder named smtmp, included hidden and system files and scanned my whole drive. After the search ran for a good 6 hours i realized it was just loop scanning the HD. Google searching "windows file search loop" or anything near that string returns literally 0 related threads.

Ran it already, all files are showing (unhide actually unhid some things, but no dice on the smtmp folder).
