System restore trojan

From reading around different forums I may have the system restore trojan? My first problem is that the infected computer is my laptop. The trojan has hidden all my desktop icons and cannot open most programs in the program list. I am running windows 7 on the laptop. I am currently on a different pc at work since I cannot even find internet explorer or mozilla on my laptop.

I am only able to run microsoft security essentials and anti malware scans so far. Everything else seems to be disabled.

Thanks for your help in advance. What should I do first with my limited function of my laptop?

Try doing this first:

Please download and save the below tool from Grinler @ bleepingcomputer to your Desktop or anywhere else you can find it ( if the Desktop is not showing )

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/unhide.exe

Now run it. Now see if you can find the items that seemed to be missing?

Then please try to do as much of the READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide as possible.
