Hi guys, thank you for helping people, you are very good peopls.

I'm attaching everything requested, except for SAS logs - it may be a newer version, as I could not find the "logs" tab. After running it though, it said no problems found. Here are the rest of the logs.

I've done my best to read through things and fix myself, but no luck. To my untrained eye, it appears I have an MBR infection.

    Thanks for taking a look!

Yes you do have an infected MBR. If you don't have your Win7 disc, you can create a Recovery Environment disc for your system here:

    Win7 64bit Recovery Environment

    Win7 32bit Recovery Environment

You can use ImageBurn to create the disc.

Once the disc is created, boot into the bios and change the boot order to CD/DVD as first boot device. Put in the disc and reboot. Once in the RE, type this:

    Bootrec.exe /fixmbr

Note the space after the exe.

Exit out when done and boot back into normal mode. Re-run MBRCheck and attach the new log.

Sorry for two posts for attachments... having trouble uploading the files in Chrome. Chrome is very messed up - can't send gmail, very slow, search results hijacked, etc.

Thanks, I will try that recovery disc!

I ran the /fixmbr command. File attached. Seems the same.

My DVD drive doesn't work, so I burnt the recovery image to a USB stick, and booted into that, and ran the command from there. I only have one HD. It said the command completed successfully (and instantly).

Think you are going to have to try again after having gotten hold of an external CD/DVD drive. Probably cheaper to get the internal replaced with a new one though. You can always use a different machine. Then try my instructions again.
