Bad guy or false positive

    Hello, I had a copy of MBAM on a thumb drive I along with Spybot S&D and a few other tools that I take with me when I get those my computer is messed up calls.
    I started using ZA anti virus a couple months ao and this is the first time I had plugged the drive in since I switched.
    Immediately got a pop up dialog that a trojan had been detected and deleted.
    The file it said it deleted was MBtools.exe and I was wondering if it found something I picked up from the last one I worked on or did it frell my copy of MBAM?

    Sounds like MGTools.exe. Correct? If so it is nothing to worry about as it is one of the tools (created by Chaslang) that we use in our malware removal procedures.

    Thanks for the quick reply
    The log saysF\:MBtools
    The darn ZA AV pounced on it and deleted it so I guess I need to try the MBAM and see if it still runs

    Didn't even think- my printer was out of ink and I was just loading a document on the drive to run over and make a copy. :(

    Maybe it's a folder that you made which contained the Malware Bytes executable. Even if it was, and it's been deleted it can easily be redownloaded again.
    But nothing was quarantined from your PC, just from the flashdrive, right?

    yeah, just the drive.
    I use the ZA on this PC because I snagged a copy for 10 bucks :-o
