Default Does the Avira ads slow your computer down?

Hi,

Just curious if anyone has had this problem? It happens on mine and on my girlfriends too, around the time the advert for Avira antivirus comes up on our screen, the whole computer comes to a virtual standstill. Any action takes forever, until the ad has been shut off, however it takes ages for the ad to come up.

You can tell it's due to appear because the whole computer starts slowing down at around 3pm for me (not sure when it happens for my girfriend)....then a few minutes later you get the ad pop up. Meanwhile the computer just doesn't want to play.

Any tips? My girlfriend wants to get rid of Avira as she says she always seems to have probs when she has it on her computer, but it seems many others use it ok.

Calv.
