life without internet explorer

hello

now that i don't have internet explorer, i can not use acrobat reader, what can i do, i need to view .pdf files...

i also can't use sygate firewall or zonealarm, wich should i use?

and by the way, i need a video editor, adobe premier is the best one right? but maybe it is to big and complex, maybe i should use virtualdub... what do you think?

What browser are you using now?

You may have to reinstall your acrobat reader. Mozilla Firebird handles the adobe plugin just fine.

Did you try reinstalling the firewalls? Tried Agnitum Outpost? You can find all kinds here at Majorgeeks.

When you mean you cannot use Acrobat Reader is that when you click links to open PDFs from within ( your now removed IE )?

Have you tried to open any PDFs stored on your HD or a CD?

Try rightclick and save as on any PDF links on websites, then open from HD.

What browser are you using?

and a little more detail to why ZA or Sygate wont work may help...... plus other software firewall you could use is Kerio but more info to why it wont work may give me ideas to what may work.

As to Video work..... use what you feel is best for your work.... Premiere is very detailed.

i do not have acrobat reader instaled, it does not install, needs internet explorer. i use mozilla firebird... do not know much about plug-ins...

i am going to try agnitum outpost, any other opinions?

If you havnt read info on Acrobat and Mozilla then here's all you need to know
http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/faqs/acroread.html Acrobat should detect Mozilla automatically on install so re-install but first clear registry from any Acrobat keys or links Mozilla and Acrobat




also try the older Acrobat Reader 5.1 as I dont think it ever incorporated the need for IE to be installed.

Video Edit, AVID Express for me, for n00bs I'd suggest Ulead's Video Studio, less technically intensive.

i know i can use trillian or whatever that lets me chat with people that have msn...

I have been using Firebird for about 4 months now (I love it) I also use MSN and Yahoo Messenger with no problems although I have read that some people have found issues with both. Mozilla do a very good forum which should be able to answer most of your questions, url below.
