Hi. I have gone through the Read Me and it's not working.

Last Friday, my computer suddenly stopped allowing me to access almost anything. It turned out most of my files were hidden. After getting some Pop Ups for AV protection I wasn't using, I realized I had some kind of virus. I think it was Smart HDD or something similar. I Googled the solution, which led me to Bleepingcomputers.com.

I downloaded their RKill program and then MalwareBytes. I used both, and then the Unhide program, and I was able to use my computer with no issue. However, today I came in to work and I suddenly couldn't access the Internet. My system shows as being connected to my LAN and internet, but I can't access a webpage or my email (using Mozilla Thunderbird). I ran Microsoft Security Essentials, which turned up the DOS/Alureon.A name, but couldn't remove it.

After Googling again, it recommended I download a TDSS RootKiller program from Kaspersky (I also tried one from Symantec). I ran the RootKiller program, but it said that there were no threats detected, indicating to me that the virus has hid itself from detection, even from the prgram designed to detect it. I have tried running my MalwareBytes again, but to no avail.

At this point, I am at a loss. I can't access my internet or email, so I can't even attach my log as requested. Somebody please help!

    Thanks.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!
I'm sorry but you have not finished the instructions until you have attached the 5 logs we requested. Once you do this, we can properly evaluate your status and attempt to provide a fix.

Since you are posting here, it means you have access to another PC. You need to copy the logs off of the problem PC onto a USB flashdrive or CD or by any other method and put them onto the PC that works. Then attach them here.

I'm trying to run ComboFix and it has been stuck on the initial message for closing in on half an hour. No stages complete yet. Also, I can no longer access a "Shared" folder from the other computers in the office. What is going on?

Why are you running ComboFix now? If your first message you said
which means you had already completed the READ & RUN ME and you should just be attaching the logs. At anyrate, as stated in the instructions, if something does not work, just continue on.

You stated in your first message that you have no connectivity. Thus nothing can connect to you either since the network interface is down. You need to finish the READ & RUN ME and attach the logs we need to get started trying to fix your problems.
