Hi seki,
Welcome to MG's ,First off we need a little bit of info about your machine ..... 1)Make and Model of your machine, also if it is a desktop/laptop or netbook. 2)What Operating System is installed i.e.. windows xp/vista or 7 (32/64bit) or Mac. also to help us get the correct fix for your system could you please download and install one of these utilities (depending on OS).. 1)NT/97/ME or XP..... please could you run everest ..... http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html Click Report (top menu) > Report Wizard > Next Choose System Summary Only > Next Choose Plain Text > Finish and wait for report to generate Click Save to File and leave the File Name as Report, then click the Save as Type dropdown and choose Report files (*txt) and click Save (n.b. Save to desktop is best as easy place to find it, use Browse to locate desktop) Add the report in your next post like this..... http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86880 2) Vista/Win7 or Mac..... Download the free, Speccy http://majorgeeks.com/Speccy_d6358.html then run Speccy and click File > Save as Text File, then attach the log as per instructions below (note: as Speccy also now lists more data it likely will have your Windows licence serial key also in the log, so look for Operating System and under that Serial Number and delete the code and Save the log) Then attach your log to your next post as per these instructions http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86880 once we have the generated reports we will be able to assist you further. ![]()

Thanks...
Lets try re-installing the "chipset" driver first then re-installing the "audio" and see if that gets your sound back ....http://downloadcenter.intel.com/conf...&ProductID=889 download and follow install prompts to install then once installed re-boot your system, then download and install your audio driver http://downloadcenter.intel.com/conf...&ProductID=889 as before follow the prompts to install the driver then , once finished re-boot, it is essential that you re-boot after BOTH of the driver installs. You must accept the terms of the licenses of the drivers before they will download!! hopefully this will fix your problem ![]()

Hi
Could you tell us if this is a custom build PC as in one you or a company built that is not one of the big companies like Dell, HP etc or is it one from the big companies like Dell, HP etc and if so what is the excat model code? In device manager do you have any yellow ! marks and if so what by (device manager is found by clicking Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager)? If you run this HERE does it help or find an issue?

According to the Everest Report you have a IBM 8303-41G. I believe this is your driver.
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/deta...cID=MIGR-44440 You can find all of your drivers by going here. http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/deta...cID=MIGR-42767 At the left select drivers and software. In the Quickpath popup box type 8303-41G. |

Do you have a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager under Sound and have you enabled onboard audio in BIOS?

Did you run this fix, suggested by DavidGP? http://support.microsoft.com/mats/AudioPlayback/en-us
You have SigmaTel C-Major Audio. There are several drivers from Dell, HP, etc. But I'll leave this to the guys that have been here helping you.

First, Do as David said and try the fixit HERE. Does it solve the issue or tell you the problem? Is so, what does it say?
I downloaded and looked at the inf file of this driver. It has your Vendor and Device Id so it should work. Download and install in an admin account. http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub...s/d64z26us.exe Quote:

Glad you got your sound back.
I looked at your everest report you had a IBM 8303-41G. I went to the lenovo site and looked for your sound driver. There were two. The first one did not work for you so I used an earlier driver. You gave the Device and Vendor ID. I downloaded the driver I posted and using an archiver like Winrar opened the exe file and looked for the inf file. The inf file had the Vendor and Device ID you posted. You can sometimes find the driver by using your Vendor and Device ID and going to PCIdatabase.com or doing a google search. |
