Hi rmb, here's what your help section for avast says:
It is possible to work with the files listed in the results. Select the file and click on the Action button. You can choose the same actions as in the case when virus is found, i.e. delete, repair, move, move to the Chest or scan .
Personally I'd delete the suckers, then run avast again to see if you got all of them.

Phil - if you run into infected files that can't be deleted from within Windows, Avast has a nifty boot-time scan feature that you can schedule from the main menu.

    Just to add
I dont know what OS you are running but if you have System Restore enabled make sure you disable this and reboot before scanning

If you havent got System Restore or you dont use it please ignore the above advice :)

When I ran Avast the first time I also found Kuang2.
I clicked for it to clean and so far it seemed to have fixed it.

Knock on wood I've never had a virus BUT I just ran AVAST and it found Kuang2 and matyas

    win32: Kuang 2 in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Active Scan\imscan.dll

    win95: Matyas in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Active Scan\pav.sig
    and in C:\WINDOWS\system32\pav.sig

Of course, I just went ahead and told good old AVAST to delete the files. I didn't think about "clean" or anything.

I have Windows XP home. I ran the AVAST scan with system restore on, and deleted the files with everything up and running and haven't rebooted my computer. Should I do anything more? different? etc.

All right - I posted a thread called "3 viruses, but the link is up in "software"?" -- down in the "spyware" forum for this. I had searched for the viruses and came up with this thread which was already in the Software forum so when I added my post... here is where it sits forum -- where I know it doesn't really belong.

Some of the several false positives that Avast picks up...those 2 are related to Panda AntiVirus. There are references to it on the Avast support site.

Yep - saw that after I searched and came to this post. SOOOOO - I already deleted it like I said but with system restore ON and I haven't restarted my computer...can I go get them back...?
Do I need to do anything else for the KUANG2?

Don't worry about it. Those are Panda activescan (the online scanner) files.

If you ever go there again it will probably reinstall whatever's missing.

I'd just nuke this whole directory:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Active Scan\

    thanks

Thanks - very helpful -- I was wondering what the "active scan" directory was.

I'm curious how I got the kuang2 virus when I have everything up-to-date and running and I'm a nut  about Ad-Aware, spybot, spywareblaster, etc.

    Re: thanks

    You don't have the virus.

    It's a false positive.
