    You did not indicate if you are having a particular problem or if you just wanted someone to look at your log. I do see a couple of items I would question:

    After running them and cleaning what they find, repost a new HiJaak This log (if still necessary) but indicate if you have a particular problem.

    well, when i try to run programs and anything from Start button (control panel, etc.), screen clears, and reset again without doing anything else. i barely got Spybot to run through Run, and it didnt find anything. Even when i run Spybot in safemode, it wont find anything. downloaded all updates for spybot. thanks for the help!

    What version of SpyBot S&D are you using? Have you run Ad-Aware? And did you cleanup any of the items I indicated from you HiJaak This log?

    Also, is you Norton-AV up to date? And have you run a full system scan lately?

    You should also go here http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
    and make sure your Windows 2K system is up to date.

    okay, i ran adaware and was able to utilize the machine again. all seems well except that my LAN status keeps switching from "network cable unplugged" to plugged in. i am not able to go to Windows Update to update my system. i ran NAV in safe mode and also ran spybot 1.2 and found nothing. i ran Hijackthis and here's the log:

    One more thing the looks incorrect to me is this:

    Looks like something is wrong here. Anyone else have an opinion. Looks to me like Windows default search hooks need to be put back into the registry?? I have a registry patch that can do this but not sure if it is really the problem.

    Not sure why you have "network cable unplugged" to plugged in problems nor why you cannot go to Windows Update. Lets fix the above first and what the General also stated below and then see what happens.
