I've been plagued by popups and after reading some of the posting here, downloaded HijackThis. Here is the latest log.

    Have HJT fix this:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {89AEAB46-8E8A-4045-9003-5614BFBFE90B} - (no file)

    This line:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {83DE62E0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2} - C:\WINDOWS\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll
means you have a pest called Blazefind, info and removal intructions here:
    http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/b/blazefind.asp

    These lines:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\UluCUa.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4F32SNN2B4QTLL] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Aqzh0g6.exe

mean that you probably have the peper.trojan (bundled with MemoryWatcher), download and run this removal tool while online:
    http://www.memorywatcher.com/uninst.exe
Then reboot and in case there are remnants left over, follow the removal instructions here:
    http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/library/pepertrojan/index.phtml

I would suggest keeping McAfee updated, and running updated copies of Ad-aware, Spybot S&D, and SpywareBlaster at least once a week, here's some info:

Thanks for your assistance!! :D I downloaded Adaware - it found so many things that spy-bot never found. Guess I'll use both. Does this log look OK?

    Looking better Joly!

    This looks bad: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4F32SNN2B4QTLL] C:\WINDOWS\System32\HotElc.exe
Do you know what this is?

You may need to boot in safe mode and do some cleaning with Ad-aware & SpyBot S&D.

I just noticed this one has been here all along:
    O16 - DPF: {FF65677A-8977-48CA-916A-DFF81B037DF3} (WMService Class) - http://download.overpro.com/WildApp.cab

I'm not sure what this is. Anyone else know? I wonder if it is related somehow to WildTangent.

That 1st line is left over from the peper trojan.

The 2nd line looks like some kind of spyware.

Have HJT fix both those lines, then reboot to safe mode and delete the HotElc.exe file.

    Otherwise looks clean :)

These three look bad & they were not there before:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BUMJXES] C:\WINDOWS\BUMJXES.exe

Unless you know what they are for, I would think they need to be removed.

Looking good now. I would recommend that you consider doing one more thing though. I see you have Microsoft's FindFast.exe running. It is part of Microsoft Office. It has always been a resource hog and slowed down system operation (at least in the past). I would considered disabling it. Which version of MS Office are you running. Take a look at these links for Office 97 and Office 2000:

I can't thank you all enough! It's so nice not having all those pop-ups. I really like ad-aware. Thanks for all the info!:D
