spywareblaster error

    Hi,
    I have tried to install spyblaster several times and recieved the error message bad file or bad sector on hard drive. I have run hijackthis and there is nothing in the scan and I have run ad-aware also without any luck Please Help

    Try running SPYBOT it is the best program I have found to use. Another is PestPatrol, it will delete unwanted cookies on the fly when your on the internet not to mention clean up harddrive hardcore.

    Hi, I have installed spybot and winpatrol and scotty keeps finding the following,c:\windows\system32\pifa.dll and it trys to change my homepage. I have run hackthis and deleted all files found and ad-aware files as well but no luck any IDEAS?

    does that dll show up in your Hijack this log if so please post the lines so we can see exactly where its showing up

    But to be honest ive never heard of it and google gives me nothing so im assuming its bad, and therefore you more and likely need to go into safe mode, enable the show hidden files option and delete that sucker

    I hope you did not really mean this? You do not want to just delete all items that HiJaak This brings up. You need to know what you are doing when running HiJaak This and only delete items that are problems. Deleting all will cause your applications and or PC not to work.

    As far as your error with "bad sector on hard drive" this could be just a problem with your hard disk and not a problem with SpyBlaster. Your should at a minimum run scandisk....wait you did not give us your operation system. At any rate you need to verify that you do not have any disk errors.

    I had the same problem when trying to install spyware blaster. I was at that time fighting a cool web search variant. When I became cool web search free, I was able to install spyware blaster with no problem.
    P.S. - chaslang, how do you run scandisk?

    What you run is dependant upon your OS. I believe I remember seeing that you have WinXP.
    Just double click on MyComputer (or open a win explorer window) then right click on your harddisk and select properties. Now select the Tools tab. And then under the Error-checking area, select Check Now. In the window that pops up, select "Scan for an attempt recovery of bad sectors."

    In older Win9x, Me platforms there was a scandisk program. There were basic checks and full surface scan options.

    hi folks, When i try to run spywareblaster, i get this error message
    Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt or wrong version File "MSVBVM60.DLL, error 1157"
    I am adventurous but cautious with most computer issues, but i'd like to be sure of how to fix rather than hit & hope with this one... lol
    win98.SE on an ibm laptop, model 2621. I've just reloaded the basic software after reformatting my hard drive. All updates for windows 98 SE, office97 & up to date drivers from ibm. hope this info makes it easier... TY. TerryD

    hey guys I have idea that the process Isass.exe is the case of my errors in installing spyware blaster,BUT I can"t just delete it fom task mgr any ideas?
