When did you start to drink coffee?

With all that talk about coffee, it made me wonder...how old where you when you started to drink coffee? I remember when i was about 10 my dad would let me have a cup sometimes when we went out on the weekends. Now at 16 if i dont smell some coffee brewing in the morning i wont get up till 2pm. Thats what happened today.

Dunno its been so long since I started, maybe I was 14-15 +/- a few.

I do remember when I first started to get hooked on my morning caffiene fix and that was in my second job age 21, working for a small proffessional photo printing company dealing with modeling agencys, estate agents and joe public etc etc ..... I drank whire coffee up until we had some new high tech machine with issues and a few engineers from Agfa France came across to sort them out..... to cut a long story short ..... they drank strong black coffee, so I tried some OMG... adding milk I was missing a great taste and 17 years later I'm still drinking very strong black coffee, espresso 50% of the time, I get the shakes and weird *** twitches now and agian from the caffiene intake but i'm 90% ok

16 or 17, I think. I distinctly remember it having to do with not having typed (or even written a draft) of a term paper that was due the next day. (This was in an age when you had to go to a library to do research, and read actual books, and write your paper with a pen and paper before typing the final draft using a typewriter).

probably about 12... I suddenly started to like the flavour. That reminds me, my first ever girlfriend... cant make coffee to save her life! Oh she's great really, just don't ever ask her for any kind of hot beverage!

My standard drink is an americano (double shot of espresso) a spot of milk, sweetended slightly with vanilla syrup or maple syrup. Yumm... If I'm out, its got to be the standard issue Cappuccino :D

Drank my mom's coffee when it got cold and she left it sitting around when I was 7-8, started with the "had to have it" around 12-13. Many, many years ago. Now (to me) nothing tastes better in the morning than a cup of strong black coffee and a smoke. Another excuse to why I cant quit smoking!

I started drinking coffee when I was ten then when I moved out on my own at fifteen I'd drink it every morning. Then at about 25 I had beer every morning to get rid of the shakes Now I'm back to just coffee, all day and night if I can get it.

Black in the morn for me, and if I have a sweet tooth, I will go for a frozen cappicino.

Black for me and very strong.... generally have columbian or italian coffee in the machine.... no damm wonder I dont sleep too good ::

Screw the foo foo drinks... gimme coffee! If there's a shot of anything in it, usually it's just more coffee :biggrin: About the only thing I can take besides a regular cup of black coffee is a triple espresso latte ( gotta have the milk to take the edge off of all that acidity)

To answer the question - When did I start drinking Coffee? I don't know for sure, because I was bought up on tea, but probably occasionally in my early to mid teens (loooong ago!).
