Tell me your lag time.

When you post or do something in here, how long is your lag time? I am going to get a watch or something and time mine. Seems that it is at almost a minute. My browser even timed it out. :

I think they're still fighting some server issues. Today from work half the time pages wouldn't load at all, clicked stop & reload & the page would pop up immediately. Tonight it seems to be behaving.

Right now it is to fast to count, but earlier it was in the 10 - 20s. It doest bother me though.

Well, at first I thought it was my server, but some site load fine. Maybe it's just the heat. To think, I have high speed....Wonder if I can get a discount for this?

You should have done like I said in that PM. We would have been fine, and now the word is out. :

: We were almost there man! Just think, now that there is nothing going on, we can all sit and stare at our screen and wonder what it would have been like if we had the word association back. We could have been busy.

Maybe that is why there is so few people coming in anymore. Nothing moving.

Lag time? A few seconds if the board behaves, if not - I have press refresh for it to load, then it's usually no probs.

Re: Word Assn......Don't even go there. If you had your inbox cluttered up for the last two years like we had, you'd get my drift. Posting for the sake of posting serves little or no purpose, i.m.o. If others want to do it, that's up to them. Personally, I have more important things to do in life.

The lounge went quiet lately, mainly because there were a few stirrers, now gone, creating unnecessary tension.

Yeah, I must have posted a couple of times there myself and not unsubscribed (Doh!).

I think Kodo just wanted to eliminate unnecessary server clutter, plus it was kinda irritating for the same thread to be on the front page for eternity.:

To tie together your two themes, lag time ,and word association, in UK
"Lag Time " is an expression used for time served in prison, hence the term "old lag".
Thankfully, in UK parlance , my lag time is zero!

What is occuring with me is what GT describes...(it's intermittent though - can't get a finger on the conditions, though)... it even occurred whn replying to this thread....(using IE6.0sp1 - have to here at work)

One observation I've noticed is the time it puts up the Winguides ad at the very top of the page will get real slow and appears to get stuck as if one of the links embedded (or whatever the actual term is) is processing real slow to "push"/download the ad to one's computer in order to be displayed. When I stop & refresh, somethings gets cleared out and the whole page is there. Sometimes I wonder by navigating using the Backspace or Alt+arrow keys to quickly something gets snagged and the stop & refresh clears it up.

Hope any of this is fruitful in tracking things down.

Post lag time from 1sec to an eternity ... depends on if the servers, isp's and how the intenet backbone is behaving.

as for the word assoc threads...... old stuff, been going on for years, time to thing of something new?
