Remember when?
I was flippin channels the other day when I remembered when Music was on MTV.
VH1 seems to be fading as well Am I that old already? I remember when MTV was bad mojo. now I miss what it was. . . . . Where did the Music go? anyone?

I remember when it just came out. We used to watch it in the barracks. I was always commenting about people being freaks back then.

I remember when MTV first started, everyone was watching. Well, I think I remember, it's been awhile. There is all kind of stuff out there now, some I like and some I don't ( too much ).
remember Robert Palmer's "addicted to love" has to be one of the best.  Steve

Before i came to the States last year, i watched MTV Asia everyday. MTV Asia doesn't mean that there are asian music videos all over mtv! it means no reality shows, just plain new music on mtv all da time. here, MTV is boring- all freakin reality shows.... :
 : i'm not old but i dun like MTV USA...  i barely watch it.

They are rolling out Mtv2, which is dedicated to playing music, much like Mtv used to be. I'm sure a lot of people will be impressed with the idea of this 'new' channel that shows only music videos.:

Really though, if MTV started to play only music from now on, it would still suck!
They would only play the "safe" mainstream teenybopper crap anyway, like Ashly Simpson and Britney Spears. Awful crap like that. : : It'll never be cool again like it was when it first came out. BTW, yes, I also hate reality shows, but that another post for another day. Steve

I must be really "old school" or a purist or something, but I've never been a fan of videos ever. I got sick of crappy songs winning awards or becoming hits because they came with a great video. I'm not a huge fan of tv either for that matter. I like our 27" tv for sports or movies but my money is invested in a real stereo for music only, no surroundsound or prologic, just power.

I heard a Mickey Dolenz (of the Monkees) interview, say that the Monkee's TV show was a forerunner of MTV, since you do see the group singing their songs and seeing them doing that along with parts of the story continuing with the music. Similar to what MTV and VH1 do now. I hardly watch those channels, though, so I have no idea (outside of heresay) what goes on now.
