Unhappy sidefind.exe destroyed my computer-help!

I'm far from a computer expert but over the years i've learned how to differentiate the programs i have downloaded and the spyware ones. So last week i was going through the programs in the add/remove area of the control panel and i saw a few spyware programs. Sidefind was the last one i deleted and once i did it removed all of my desktop items. I freaked and rebooted the computer and all i saw was the wallpaper. I did control alt delete to see if anything was running and there was nothing. None of my desktop items were there, there wasn't even a start menu. Nothing but my wallpaper that I downloaded years ago. I tried putting in my original systems cd that came with the computer and nothing happened. I'm holding on to a little bit of hope that the hardrive wasn't erased and all my stuff is still there. Can anyone help? ::

I don't even know how i can get to safe mode. Since there's no start menu, the only way i can reboot or shut off the computer is by using control, alt, delete.

when you first turn on the computer, right after the machine POST's and RIGHT before the windows splash screen hit the F8 key on the keyboard. This will bring up a menu. Choose safe mode from the menu by selecting it's corresponding number and hit enter.

Giant AntiSpyware was the only thing I found to completely get rid of Sidefind. You can download it for free, and use it for free for 15 days. I loved this program so much that I bought it, and that is saying a lot because I am not one to usually buy programs. Here is the link to Giant AntiSpyware. http://www.giantcompany.com?PID=A23392 Copy and paste it if it doesn't show up as a link in this message. Adaware will NOT get rid of Sidefind as some people state it does. Nor do a lot of other programs, and it's next to impossible to get rid of all the files on your own. I tried everything on my own to get rid of Sindfind. I got rid of some of it, but that evil little sfbho.dll file would not die for anything. Download Giant AntiSpyware. The program does everything for you and restores anything you deleted by mistake that you shouldn't have. It's very easy to use. I can't recommend it enough to get rid of Sidefind and other spyware programs.

Kimycamp,

Please start your own thread for your problem and describe them in detail. However before doing that you should follow the below instructions and if you still need to come back for help, make sure you say your did ALL the steps of the READ ME FIRST.

First, please follow ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal
If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.
