Hard to say, and I'd assume a lot depends on what other countries do. Likely targets of further aggression would be Iran, which just today was found to have an ongoing nuclear program hidden underground after teling the IAEC that they were going to comply with international restrictions, and obviously lying to them.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=41549 If Iran stays on this path, there is a risk that Israel will act on its own, as it did against Iraq's nuclear reactor some years ago, which would probably blow the whole region wide open. Tiny Israel can't afford to gamble. Two nukes would totally destroy them. Syria is a prime target. Long time supporter of terrorists on all fronts, and an occupying nation; they invaded Lebanon years ago, and still hold it. Supported Hussein in Iraq, and are still helping the resistance there. There are others as well. We're already helping the Phillipines on a small scale; they've got their own little war going on against Muslim radicals. The current genocide problem in Sudan is directly due to their radical Muslim government. The list goes on... Even if we turn Afghanistan and Iraq into stable peaceful countries, the terrorist problem is still alive and well elsewhere. One hopeful sign is that Bush is cleaning out the brain dead in the upper ranks of the CIA. I'd hope to see more targeted missions (small strikes) against the ringleaders around the world, if the CIA can get its act together and pinpoint them better.

Crud. I thought I voted yes on your poll, and obviously got a NO by mistake.

Thank you MrPewty, you're a gentleman.
![]() One European country that has woke up very suddenly is the Netherlands. Only took one very vicious murder to do it too, unlike us, who ignored blown up embassies and the near sinking of one of our naval ships, and other attempts all the way back to the first attempt to take down the WTC over a decade ago. Education by Murder If the rest of Europe and the free world follows the Dutch example, we'll have a much better shot at squashing this threat, but that's pretty wishful thinking.

Yes, I think it came as a great shock to the ultra liberal Dutch to find themselves so torn between two bastions of leftist culture. Freedom of speech and multiculturalism. It's very difficult for them to admit that something has to be done about radical islamists, but to their credit they woke up quickly.
I agree that a lot more has to happen before the west will finally put forth a united front against the threat. |

actually, the Dutch response has been less then exemplary; firebombing an Islamic school is not how I think protests against fundementalist Islam should occur.
On the other hand, there have been attacks against churches in the region too.... To be honest, I think any type of radical or fundementalist movement is pretty negative, whether it be of Islam, Christianity, or secular

Islamic response? Shoot, stab, and almost decapitate him, and pronounce death threats against some prominent Dutch leaders, and Europe in general. I don't have details on it, but if that Islamic school was teaching the same hateful dogma as the Wahabi schools all over the Middle East, it was a perfect target for burning. Polite disapproval of rabid murderers won't stop them.

What about Sudan? I'm pretty sure that's next... and even then there's North Korea. I think we'll maintain a military presence in Iraq for at least the next 2-3 years... regardless of how the upcoming elections turn out.

i dunno why US wanna invade any country...
let the countries rule themselves.. IMO... No offense to anyone who supports US invasions... Maybe it's just because i have (or had) good friends from Afghan and Sudan... i think my Afghani was glad that the taliban is gone though..

I think the USA have already invaded and dominated most countries in the world already. TV (Friends, soap operas, etc), Takeaways (McDonalds, Pizza Hut, etc.), Corporations (GM, Ford, etc.), Fizzy drinks (Coca Cola, Pepsi, etc.), each countries icons, like Vegemite.
We don't need a physical invasion as well (forgot to mention Pine Gap and other super secret stuff imposed on OZ), although I think the French are vainly trying to stop the non-physical stuff mentioned above (and losing). Baz |
