While MajorGeeks.Com knew about Alek's 17,000 Christmas Lights Webcam in early December, the media has finally noticed as it went out on the AP Wire Nationally earlier this week - here is the CNN Story. In addition to various radio/TV segments, check out Alek's live airborne report from the Channel-7 Helicopter
Hulksters lights have gotten national attention and people are trying to get him on Letterman, Oprah, etc. He will wear the MajorGeek shirt on Letterman if he gets on, but all the same, he deserves it. Odds are they will hear about it without our help, as it seems a natural fit, but why not kick in and tell them you want to see Hulksters Christmas lights on their shows? If you want to help get a geek on TV here's some links that you can send email requests to. Feel free to just pick your favorite one. Emailing all of them constitutes a email campaign and that is not our goal. We would rather it was genuine or not at all. So now after he admitted the light show was a fake, do we still try to get him on Letterman? Or go for Springer now? :D

you know, in your 'eposure' article he never mentioned MajorGeeks. He mentioned Slashdot, and that you were a geek like a million times, but he never mentioned us
Whats up with THAT??

And how was it not obvious it was a hoax? millions of people turning on the lights off and on all at the same time? I mean... duh. It was very cute though. When i first saw it i was gonna write and ask you if it was just cached photos, but I forgot.

The press doesnt link to websites -- they are pretty stingy like that. Hell I haven't even seen one that mentioned his site yet. BUT dig it, he got on CNN with a MG GEEK shirt on http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/12/28/christmas.scam.ap/

Dave hasn't called me yet ... but I still have the MajorGeeks T-shirt ... so I thought some folks might like to see an updated picture. Here is shot that (literally) went around the world and was printed in bazillions of places - for example, page A2 of the Dec 28th, 2004 Washington Post.
![]() And here is a similar picture I shot this year ... with a real webcam in my hand rather than the X10 wireless remote! ;-) ![]() |

I wanted to reshoot a similar picture as was done last year ... and wanted the MG t-shirt showing, so yea, I'm wearing short sleeves in the snow ... although that's a few days old and it was probably about 40 degrees F when that picture was shot.
