Hi everyone, as you most likely suspected my pc has a problem. I forgot what the dsl guy said what it was that was wrong but it's not Bellsouth's problem so.... Anyways my network connection is messed up to where it thinks and says it's connected but it isn't. The modem also says it has a link, when there is no connection. I have to repair connections about every 10 mins or so. Also when I plug in any ethernet cables I get the fatal blue screen, so I'm connected with usb. I re-enstalled windows xp today also. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    I'm running windows xp
    modem - 2wire dsl
    updated with windows update recently

Can you try using a different USB cable as this might be the problem? Also, see if the modem hardware is installed correctly, had that problem the first time I got Broadband 2 years back.

Hehe I kinda feel stupid. I wasn't re-installing windows right. I was just clicking the update button instead of doing a complete re-install. The problem is fixed. Oh also I have a bad Bellsouth instalation cd. It won't install the usb driver, but now since the problem is cleared up I can use an ethernet cable so I'm not really worried about that. Thanks for the help :)
