Graphics card problem. please help

    I have just bought a GeForceFX 5500 graphics card. And i've slotted it in. But when I turn my computer on, the computer just doesn't start up and and light on my monitor just flashes.. my mouse doesn't light up and I hear no beeps.
    When I take the card out my computer is fine, Can anybody help me please?

    Have you tried putting the new Vid card in another slot on the mother board?

    You can also try the Vid card in another PC, if you get the same results you have a bad card.

    One more, Does the GeForceFX 5500 have a power slot on the card itself? Some Vid cards you have to run a plug from the power supply to the card as well.

    Just something to check.

    FX 5500 doesnt have an extra power plug, i have one
    BUT, it does require some power requirements
    how many watts is your power supply, and whats the brand?

    ..I'm so..stupid. I hadn't slotted it in properly. It's all fine and working now. Thanks for the suggestions guys, much apprechiated.
