geforce 5700LE 256bm only working at 128mb

    hey guys

    i bought a geforce 5700LE 256mb......i put it in and when it starts up it says its a 128 mb video card??? wtf lol.,......ive made sure its a 256mb ...on the box it said 128/265 mb........would it be running in 4x? do i have to force it to 8x?

    im running windows XP 900mhz cpu overclocked to 1ghz and gigabyte 7va mother borad, 512mb ram dunno what else to tell ya

    video card i had before was a geforce mx 400 64mb

    ive looked at bios but cant see to change the video card to 256.....it does even say about the video card like that..Plzzzzz help me!

    how can i make it work at fulll capacity??

    Let me see if I got this right, when you power on the computer the first screen you see, is about the video card and it's saying 128 megs? This screen is even before the ram count occurs.

    If this is the case then I'm sorry but you have the 128 meg version of the card. The reason the box says 128/256 is simply because they only made one box for both versions of the card. So all that means is it's either a 128/256 version of the card. Usually they indicate which, with some sort of checkmark or a sticker over one of them.

    At any rate that first screen you see during boot comes from the video cards bios itself (not the motherboards bios). So if it says 128 megs, then you have the 128 meg version.

    ARGGGG CRAPP!!!! they ripped me off ....*** holes....oooo thanks alot....yeh there is a 128 stick on one of the ports....there willbe alot of fist shaking going on tomorrow at the shop!!

    look at the card, how many RAM looking chips does it have on it!!!!
    if its 4, yea, you got ripped off, if its 8, something else is wrong!!!!

    forgot to say something, if any of your ram chips on your card are shorting out, it might show up as 128
