Omg Help With My Desktop!!!

OMG! im so dumb, im on my laptop rite now, but the cable was out yesterday for everyone, so i was like HEY, ill clean my computer till it comes back online! i took out my video card and put it back in and my monitor dident show any picture i was like wtf?? so i was like ill take everything out, i took everything out and stuff cleaned it b/c it was hella dusty, i mean REAL dusty lol, and it was all cleaned i put everything back in and it dident turn on! i was like omfg my dads goin to kill me!! does anyone kno why its not turning back on? i think i broke it.. omg!!!

 

make sure it's seated right in the slot. and when you were playing around did you shock anything? cuz if so ur fked

 

i pretty sure everythings seated rite, and i pretty sure i dident shock anything also but i dunno

 

you think everything is fried or what happened? i need help bad!, my dad is all yellin at me now omg HELP!!!!!

 

lol...dose it run at all? do u have an extra video card on hand? did u move any jumpers?

 

Some cards do not seat well, so double check any pci, and agp cards to make sure. Also while you have case open make sure that all cables are snugly plugged in. Also dont forget to check your ram that it is seated well.
What happens when you try to boot? Does the power supply fan run?, does the cpu fan run?
Just calm down and check every thing out and post again.
Could be as simple as power cord not plugged in good.

 

alrite i checked and there everything is in rite, but theres 2 cables from the power supply that are not plugged it, maybe its that? the 1 cable is white at the end, and the other one has 4 plug thingys there not all straight across but there like this.....

In most computers there are some power cables that are not used.
You need to make sure that your hard drive has a power cable and IDE cable hooked to it.

 

What happens when you try to boot? Does the power supply fan run?, does the cpu fan run?
Is there anything that happens at all?

 

yeah it has 2 cables hooked up, so thats good, MAN i dunno what wrong, how and the world did i do this

 

just checked, yeah theres power cables hooked up to the CD Drive, CD Burner, HHD and floppy drive, and i did not touch the jumpers, and no fans or nothing turns on, the only light that is on the whole time is some green light on the motherboard, oh and the yellow light on the NIC card for my cable

 

you don't happen to have a pentium 4 or a amd 64 do you? if so then that 4 square plug needs to be plugged in. with the p4 it will not run with the 64 i think it will but yea...

 

If you have a pentium 4 motherboard you have to have a power cord with a square plug attached to MB as well as the regular conection.
Sorry i cant help, hopefully someone will help soon. It would be helpfull if you told your system specs.

i think your video is dead. when it turns on do you hear any beeps? if so exactly what are the beeps? and i dun believe u answered me b4 but do u have any extra video cards?

 

oh, theres no beeps, theres nothing, and no, i have no other videos cards

 

dose it turn on AT ALL!?!?! is there a switch on the power supply? did you accidently unplug somthing? jiggle the card...um im just doin all the things i'd do

nooooo, omg how.... and the 1st thing i did was take the card out and put it back in and it nothing came up on the monitor but everything esle was working fine, then i took EVERYTHING out and then nothing is working now ... omfg this sucks bad

 

if you took everything out did u make sure to hook up the power on button? did u make sure to hook up the powersupply to the mobo? where did u get this computer? prebuilt? somone build?

make sure i hook up the power button? you mean the power button light? b/c i dont think that matters if thats in or not, and i did hook up the PSU to the mobo, and the computer was build by someone

 

bah!! OK yes!!! i got on the turn on! i had the power button connector in the wrong spot... i played hit and miss lol, but now theres no screen, and the fan on my graphics card isnt working, what happened to that? im gettin closer to fixing my computer, yay!

ok im back again, i just put my friends old graphics card in my computer and it still dident work so i dunno whats wrong now
