Well since i used to work at shit buy (best buy...sorry)...learned a lot from the computer geeks :)...and as well as reading reviews online.
Pretty much thinkin of getting a Samsung LCD

    or the 19" version

however, IF anyone feels they can give me more info im open to suggestions.
I really don't want to go over 1,000 but with the 19" i probably will with taxes and all.

Hyundai has monitors out now apparently from a friends friend perspective they're decent and obviously cheap.

Wish i could get my hands on an apple widescreen for my pc.

    thanks in advance guys

Samsung is way behind the curve on response time, many monitors still at 20 ms response time, when you want to be at 16 or less to avoid tearing in movies or games. I currently run Viewsonic, check other threads for a similar discussion where i reference some choices and other make some suggestions. When I went to Best Buy and ask the guy there about response time, he had no clue what it was.

Speaking of Dell and Apple wide screens, I may have a solution. How about a 20" widescreen with 12 ms response time, adjustable stand, usb ports in the side and more for about 674 bucks?

Shop around, you should get a BETTER monitor then your looking at for a LOT less money, around 700.

Well, do your research, your already ahead of the curve. A friend bought one without troubles, but looks like there might be something to that. I like the Viewsonic, I have the VX910, but a VX912b was released, 19", great monitors, well within your price range. While I think Samsung makes great monitors, I strongly feel their LCD's are behind the curve still and would seriously look into another established name like Viewsonic.

see viewsonic isnt a name i think of when im thinking LCD.
heard its decent for the price.
id consider it but i have to admit, i probably wouldn't get it.
i dunno, i had 6tabs in firefox running just now, for LCDs this is a mess.
ill admit im going splits 50/50 with my old man, so i dont mind spending just OVER $800 US-maximum...it's just really tough...im not a big gamer by any means, it's just that, 8years of a 15" (14" true) CRT monitor is enough...love NEC for it and the years i got out of it...lol.........

looks like doing 2 dell 1905FP models, tempted for one 2005FP model but wasn't sure if it's a first generation widescreen LCD or not.
    19" http://reviews.cnet.com/Dell_UltraSharp_1905FP/4505-3174_7-31232074-2.html?tag=tab
    20" widescreen
    http://reviews.cnet.com/Dell_2005FPW/4505-3174_7-31232082-2.html?tag=tab
unless someone here already has the widescreen format.
reason why i'd prefer the 20widescreen is, i dont have a tv in my room anymore and i love watching movies, so DVD in widescreen would be nice.
dunno what to do, but im leaning towards the 2 19"'s...unless someone can recommend somethin else...thanks......,,,
