Is it possible to use a cold cathode light without the actual inverterer and pluging the 3 pin connector somewhere on the motherboard?
It's not exactly the hardware question and perhaps more of the mods question but anyway.
    Thanx.

No it isn't. florescent tubes need high voltage to drive them. The FL inverter is what supplies this high voltage.

There are adaptors from molex to the motherboard connectors, but as mentioned, I don't think the motherboard connector will give enough power for a cathode tube, these connectors are designed for case fans only.

    Another note,
The 3 pin connects on the mobo ( mobo fan headers ) are limited as to the amount of power that they can provide.(varies from mobo to mobo)

If you exceed that, you can burn out the fan header.( meaning if you install a fan or what ever that uses or requires more power that the header can provide)

    I nearly did burn.
I got off my bum and went bought an inverter with a switch and aditional plug for another tube. All good now its like a xmass tree

You'll have to post your case in the "post your modded case" in the cooling/modding section!!
