Hi,
I've been struggling to get the speed of my computer back up to normal for quite awhile now. I've had problems with spyware and virus, but I think I've gotten rid of most of them. How can/do I check Windows XP for dammaged/missing system files resulting from past spyware/virus problems? (without loosing user data) I've also tried defragging my system drive, but it says it needs to do it on reboot, and then it doesn't seem to make any progress even after a considerable amount of time (I know it can take quite awhile). I've also been getting some random BSOD. Where should I start to try and fix these issues? I've got a P3-550Mhz 384MB Ram C: 40GB (Win XP) D: 120GB E: 60GB F: 20 GB Thanks, djSmileyMike |

You can check your system files by going to Start > Run and typing sfc /scannow ( you will need your XP cd in the drive so it can repair any missing or damaged files )
