Offeroptimizer, abetterinternet or Aurora? Here's your fix guys!!

After working countless hours with two wonderful guys here at majorgeeks.com (Chaslang and Bjgarrick) I decided to research where this bugger was coming from. To make a long story short, I simply wrote an email to Direct Revenue LLC. They are also known as "abetterinternet.com, as well as offeroptimizer.com, Aurora as of late, as well as countless others i'm sure. Well here is the response I got from them.....

Anyway, I took a chance and downloaded the uninstaller. As it installed, there was a VERY small EULA stating there is no additional software going on my machine and they would not use my info etc. I installed it, rebooted and BOOYAH, no more Aurora or pop ups of any kind. The suspicious EXE is gone as well as SvcProc. I want to thank the guys at majorgeeks.com, they are top notch. It's good to know there are helpful people out there still.

OMG, thank you all. I had just acquired this adware a couple days back and i was so frustrated at not being able to remove it. It is by far the most annoying program ive come across.I was one day away from wiping my entire HD just to get rid of it. Good thing i checked back here and this had been posted. Once again, thank you. As somebody mentioned before, it's good to know theres some people challenging this lame adverising companies.

 

We have gotten this terrible bug today, and our pc is less than a week old!!! At this point, I'm leery of downloading anything. How did it get us? Did we log onto a website, that attached to us??? Major confusion here. Please let me know if SIMPLE terms how to rid myself of this nasty leech. It is like a rabbit on our pc...fast and multiplying. I keep getting "Buddy" and "Aurora" popups. SOS...Help!

Well I want to leave this to the technical experts here at majorgeeks.com because my experience is limited to Aurora and Buddy only, but if you download the uninstall from the above link, it worked for me. As for how you got it, most likely, it was attached to a program downloaded from the internet, such as a file sharing program or such. Just take the advice of the guys here as they know their stuff and try that link, I used it and it was safe for me.

 

Just want to thank you people for point out this fix. its been a nightmare that had stressed me out to the point where I screamed at my 14 yr old for getting it on my system in the first place (truth is, I dont know if it was him or me) and I felt horrible about afterwards . just goes to show that this problem of malware affects not just the PC's it affects but ones own state of mind when it gets to the point that this particularly nasty package did.

I'm not sure if I will actually "thank" the makers of this fix seeing they are the ones who caused the whole problem in the first place but I do give them vredit for having the class to put forth a fix which is more than most of these vermn do.

UPDATE:

welp, looks like these guys don't even deserve "credit". Evidently a class-action lawsuit is now going on against "Direct Revenue LLC"precisely for this vile crap. In other words they saw the writing on the wall and had to act so they'd look good for their court appearance. Heres a PDA of the court document. hey, thanks for the link. but when i go to downlaod the uninstaller it tells me that my computers security settings will not allow the uninstaller to be downloaded. can anyone tell me what i need to change in my internet explorer settings to allow this program to be downloaded??]
