no access to windows update

    Could somebody please tell me why i cant access microsoft update center to check for latest updates. I am having trouble and need to check for the latest updates before proceeding.. I use xp, and when i click on the update under start i get a done message and and it went no where..

    just as i said before nothiung there on the page, it goes no where. but it says its done..i can go to microsoft.com , but if i try to go to update , then its like it went there but the page is blank..

    Unless someone can come up with a solution, you could try turning Automatic Updates on.

    i have had it on all along, but i need to check to make sure i have the latest updates.so i can correct my problem iam having besides this one. it would appear i have the elite bar.

    also have you adjusted any of XPs services? ( quick eg. BITS if this is disabled it will stop WU working properly )

    If you have any popup blocking software installed then stop it and try again.

    Check your security settings for IE and set them to default, click Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab > Interent Zone and click Default.

    Have you ran an antispyware scan? with either Ad-Aware or MS Antispyware ( both available here http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads29.html ) as spyware can block you from being able to contact WU
