Dial-uip modem question

My son used the internet on Sunday to play games and browse sites.

Now when I try to connect to the internet I hear the modem dial out, verify this by dial my cell phone, but the will not connect to the internet.

Thought the dirver somehow was corrupted and try to restore the driver ( I am on an HP PC) I receive a warning about Malicious script I tried my anti Norton Antivirus but found nothing (it a month old on updates)

Any thoughts other than a wipe and rebuild?
