Default NVRAM...update failed

I have recently installed a new hard drive as master using the old one as slave.

When booting it gets to the part where it checks the memory and instead of it checing the amount of memory as it used to it just says: NVRAM...update failed. It then lists the amount of memory and continues to boot. I think I might not have plugged in something that needed to be????

I am attaching the AIDA32 report, so that someone might help.

Possibly one of two things I can thing of....

1. Bios needs reseting/clearning..... easily done by removing the Bios Battery for 5~10 minutes then replacing.

2. You may need a new Battery.

Gigabyte has dual Bios so that you can restore from the backup, but if I do that then my old hard drive will be the primary and the new one will be secondary. The old one doesn't work well and can really only be used for storage. So what do I do if I use the backup Bios to correct which drive is Primary etc?

Well, whether the hdd is connected at the end of the cable, or the "your term: slave" connection doesn't make the hdd automatically that type.

I know that most hdds have a cable select jumper, but I always set my drives as slave or master on the Pata hdds themselves. Once this is done, it doesn't really matter where they are connected on the ide cable.

Sata drives on the other hand are always considered Master.

They are HDD. I hooked the connectors up with the corresponding colors black for the Primary and grey for the slave. I wanted the new HDD to be the primary. I first hooked them up in the reverse of that so I could transfer all of the old HDD to the new one, then I switched the cables back to the final as above with the new HDD attahced to the black cable. I think I will just use the dual bois to the backup copy and hope for the best.
