download express does not work

I downloaded download express but it has not worked yet. When I choose something to D/L it comes right up and starts and then immediately stops with the message that download is complete, which it is not. My firewall is shut off.

When I was on dialup I tried DL Express with the same result and was never able to figure out the reason it acted that way so got rid of it and installed Leechget (Think thats what its called). Leechget worked beautifully and it seemed to me to make DLs come in a bit quicker.
So I would go for Leechget!

I can try other download mangers, but, seeing that this is tech support forum why cant, my download express be fixed?

No. I guess I wasn't clear. What I meant was I have the latest version and have had it from the beginning. The first one I d/l'd was the latest version.
